Quick answer
Sepapaja tn 6 in Tallinn is the busiest registered address in Estonia, with 4,787 active companies on 8 October 2026. Only 37% of Estonian companies have an address of their own; the rest share it with at least one other company.
Ask where the most companies at one address can be found, and most people will name 1209 North Orange Street in Wilmington, Delaware, the registered address of hundreds of thousands of businesses. This article answers a simple question: how many companies share one address in Estonia, and how does that compare with the busiest company addresses abroad? We counted the Estonian figures ourselves from the open data of the Estonian Commercial Register on 8 October 2026. The foreign figures come from official registers, government reports and the press, each with its date. Most of these busy addresses exist because many companies rent a legal address in Estonia from a service provider instead of registering at their own office or home.
Why Thousands of Companies Share One Address
Every company in the register has an official address, where letters from the authorities are sent. The company does not have to operate from it. Many owners, especially foreigners who run an Estonian company through e-Residency, have no office in Estonia and use an address supplied by a service provider. One provider can serve hundreds or thousands of companies, and all of them get the same address.
A company can also have its address abroad, but then it must appoint a contact person in Estonia. Many foreign owners find an Estonian address simpler. Because a handful of providers serve so many of them, some buildings in Tallinn are home to thousands of companies. Our ranking of Estonia’s company service providers shows who provides these services and to how many companies.
Sharing an address is completely normal. In the vast majority of cases it is simply the most practical way for a company without its own premises to meet the legal requirement to have an address. In Estonia, offering such an address is a licensed activity: the provider needs an activity licence from the Financial Intelligence Unit.
The 5 Busiest Registered Addresses in Estonia
We counted how many active companies are registered at each exact address. Active means the company is entered in the register and is not deleted, in liquidation or bankrupt. The count covers all types of legal entity, including non-profit associations and foundations. If the address has an office number, each office counts as a separate address.
| Rank | Address (Tallinn) | Active companies | Share of all active Estonian companies |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sepapaja tn 6 | 4,787 | 1.29% |
| 2 | Narva mnt 5 | 2,464 | 0.67% |
| 3 | Ahtri tn 12 | 2,435 | 0.66% |
| 4 | Tornimäe tn 5 | 2,183 | 0.59% |
| 5 | Tartu mnt 67/1-13b | 1,646 | 0.44% |
All five addresses are in Tallinn. The leader, Sepapaja tn 6, is not a tower block but a two-storey limestone building from around 1899 in the Ülemiste City business park, protected as a cultural monument.
The first four addresses have no office number, so the companies registered there may be spread across different offices in the building. The fifth is a single office: room 13b at Tartu mnt 67/1. That means 1,646 companies use one office as their registered address.
Together, the five addresses account for 13,515 companies, or about one in every 27 active Estonian companies.
How Many Estonian Companies Have a Unique Registered Address?
Estonia has 369,958 active companies. For 342,852 of them, the open data contains a full address. Of these, 128,359 companies (37.4%) have a unique address, meaning that no other active company is registered at exactly the same address, including the office number. The remaining 27,106 active companies have no full address in the open data and are not included.
London: Up to 82,168 Companies at One Address
There is no single company register for the whole world, so nobody can say for certain which address is the largest. The UK is a good place to look: its register, Companies House, is published as open data and holds almost five million companies. Its busiest addresses host far more companies than any address in Estonia.
| Rank | Address (London) | Active companies |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 71-75 Shelton Street | 82,168 |
| 2 | 128 City Road | 39,934 |
| 3 | 167-169 Great Portland Street | 21,230 |
| 4 | 20 Wenlock Road | 19,471 |
| 5 | 124 City Road | 16,036 |

Other Very Large Company Addresses: The US, Singapore and the Cayman Islands
Outside the UK, we found five more addresses with well over ten thousand companies each. The Singapore figures come from the official register data of ACRA, which we checked ourselves on 8 October 2026; they count all registered entities in each building. The others come from US and Cayman Islands sources of different years, so treat them as a guide rather than a ranking.
| Address | Country | Companies | Date and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 North Gould Street, Sheridan | Wyoming, USA | close to 300,000 | 2026, The Sheridan Press |
| 1209 North Orange Street, Wilmington | Delaware, USA | at least 285,000 | 2012, The New York Times |
| Paya Lebar Square, 60 Paya Lebar Road | Singapore | 21,972 | 2026, Singapore company register (ACRA) |
| Ugland House, George Town | Cayman Islands | 18,857 | 2008, US Government Accountability Office |
| International Plaza, 10 Anson Road | Singapore | 13,742 | 2026, Singapore company register (ACRA) |
The two US addresses work slightly differently. They belong to registered agents: firms that receive official letters on behalf of the companies they serve. According to The Sheridan Press, a local newspaper, the building in Sheridan houses 26 such firms, which together serve close to 300,000 limited liability companies (LLCs). In the UK, Singapore, the Cayman Islands and Estonia, by contrast, the address is the company’s own registered office.
How Estonia Compares with the Busiest Addresses Abroad
In absolute numbers, Estonia’s busiest address is modest. London’s 71-75 Shelton Street has about 17 times as many companies as Sepapaja tn 6, and Paya Lebar Square in Singapore about four and a half times as many. The two US addresses have about 60 times as many.
The picture changes when you compare each address with the size of its country’s register. Sepapaja tn 6 holds about 1.3% of all active Estonian companies, close to Shelton Street’s 1.7% of UK companies. Paya Lebar Square holds about 3.4% of all registered entities in Singapore. Wyoming stands out: more than a third of all its LLCs are served from one building in Sheridan. In short, Estonia’s figures are lower in absolute terms but quite ordinary for the size of the country.
Using a Shared Address for Your Own Company
If your company has no premises of its own, a shared registered address is the simplest solution. What matters is that official mail reaches you on time and that the address comes from a licensed provider. Eesti Firma is a licensed trust and company service provider and offers a registered address in central Tallinn, at Kadrioru Plaza. It suits both new and existing companies, and we receive your official mail and forward it to you. If your company needs an address, send us a request.
